Grace and peace to you from Pastor Gary! I welcome you to worship this Sunday with the wonderful people who call Spirit of Peace their church home! God is bringing together local folks and new residents, young families and the young at heart, and is building this dynamic, loving church in Richmond Hill, Georgia.
Soon after the tragic events of 9/11, a small group of Lutheran Christians gathered in 2001 to help form and name this mission congregation. The name "Spirit of Peace" conveys to me the conviction that in the midst of human fears and tears, chaos and conflict God is with us - graciously giving us peace through our Lord Jesus Christ and generously providing hope and strength through the Holy Spirit.
My work here as Pastor/Mission Developer began in August 2005, and I continue to marvel at the great grace and growth we have received from the Lord! Spirit of Peace has been blessed with a four acre gift of land in an excellent location, and we are currently working with a church architect on building plans. In the meantime, our life and ministry in Christ grow strong as we meet in a variety of settings - family homes and community buildings- for church programs and dinners, seasonal services, Confirmation, Choir, Adult Small Groups, and Children and Youth ministries.
